Hello Everyone :) I hope that you and your family are doing well :) Start with Hello Week is an OCPS and nationwide initiative from Sandy Hook Promise that promotes inclusion, connection, and a positive school community. Start with Hello Week is one of Sandy Hook Promise’s no-cost Know the Signs programs and helps students build positive relationships by encouraging them to take small but powerful actions to promote inclusion and connectedness. This year, Sandy Hook Promise identified September 21st-25th, 2026 to be the official Start with Hello Week. Please refer to the attached flyer or information below for the daily dress-up themes and schoolwide activities that our students and staff are encouraged to participate in throughout the week. Start with Hello Spirit Week is Monday, September 21st through Friday, September 25th

Monday, September 21st - Theme: Start with Hello, Dress-Up Theme: Wear green (the official color of Start with Hello), Schoolwide Activity: Learn to say "Hello" in different languages during class then tell others hello.

Tuesday, September 22nd - Theme: Team Up for Kindness, Dress-Up Theme: Wear a sports jersey/shirt or twin with a classmate, Schoolwide Activity: Sit with someone new at lunch or invite a new partner to play at recess.

Wednesday, September 23rd - Theme: Words of Kindness, Dress-Up Theme: Wear a shirt with positive words, quotes, or messages, Schoolwide Activity: Write a compliment for a classmate, teacher, or custodian and give it to them.

Thursday, September 24th - Theme: Unique & United, Dress-Up Theme: Wear tie-dye or mismatched clothes to celebrate differences, Schoolwide Activity: Play a “Find Someone Who...” bingo game in class to discover things about others.

Friday, September 25th - Theme: School Spirit of Belonging, Dress-Up Theme: Wear school colors (blue and/or green) or a Forsyth Woods Elementary school spirit shirt, Schoolwide Activity: Greet everyone you see with either a smile, high five, fist bump, wave, or hug.
